The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is hosting their third annual Jobs Fest to help connect graduating high school seniors and members of the community to regional manufacturers and companies that are hiring on Thursday.
Council Executive Director, Carter Hendricks says Jobs Fest began as a part of their SWK Ignite program which serves to help graduating high school students who don’t plan to attend college or join the military find employment.
Hendricks says the upcoming Jobs Fest is still for graduating high school students, but later in the day the employment fair will open to the public.
Around 20 companies will be recruiting at the event including T.RAD North America, TGASK, Novelis and EZ Access. Hendricks says all of the companies attending Jobs Fest are immediately hiring and in the past high school students have been hired on the spot.
This year’s Jobs Fest will be hosted on Thursday at the Hopkinsville Sportsplex and is open to high school students from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the employment fair will open to the public.
