Police arrest Clarksville man for fleeing, reckless driving

Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 33-year-old Kales Howard of Clarksville for fleeing from law enforcement after a traffic stop was initiated on Wednesday.

According to a report from police, the responding officer witnessed three motorcycles traveling south near the 2900 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard and they were cutting in and out of traffic.

As the motorcycles passed Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West the officer reportedly paced them traveling at around 75 MPH. The officer then initiated a traffic stop, but the motorcycles reportedly increased their speed to over 110 MPH.

Toward the Interstate 24 exit, the motorcycles split up, with one heading east on I-24 and another turning down a separate road near the exit. However, Howard continued driving south down Fort Campbell Boulevard and reportedly ran red lights while doing so.

The pursuit continued until Howard reportedly turned into the parking lot of Hayes Shoes and was apprehended.

Howard was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, driving on a DUI suspended license, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.
