A Gracey Volunteer Fire Department firefighter was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a crash on Gracey-Herndon Road.
According to a report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, 61-year-old Phillip Spinaio of Gracey was operating a Gracey Volunteer Fire Department firetruck southbound on Gracey-Herndon Road, responding to a vehicular accident on I-24. He told deputies that a vehicle in the opposite lane did not give way to his emergency lights and sirens, causing the firetruck to go off the roadway.
Spinaio was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of cuts to his face.
