Local man charged with second-degree robbery

A Hopkinsville man is facing a second-degree robbery charge following an incident on Pyle Lane Saturday evening. 

According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Pyle Lane in reference to an alleged robbery. The victim stated she and 41-year-old Jermain McKinney had been in a verbal altercation where he demanded to see her phone.

When she refused, McKinney allegedly threw her onto a couch and held her by her neck before striking her on the head. He then allegedly took the phone and left the scene.

He was located later on Whitney Place and taken into custody—he is charged with second-degree robbery.
