Now that the weather is warming up and the days are getting longer, the Hopkinsville Police Department is gearing up to bring back their community cook-outs.
Speaking with WHOP Wednesday morning, Public Information Officer Collette Marfil says the cook-outs are one of many ways the department tries to reach out to the community and foster strong, positive relationships with citizens. The first one of the season will be April 13 at the Pardue Lane dog park, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
She says the department is also spending time with local students—she and Paw-trol Officer Bolo will be visiting with local preschoolers this month.
Officer Marfil also advised for motorists to be on the lookout for walkers, bicyclists and motorcycles as the weather gets nicer.
