The Christian County Sheriff’s Department has released details on a single-vehicle crash on Old Madisonville Road from Saturday that injured two people.
According to the collision report, a moped operated by 45-year-old Tiago Montoya of Hopkinsville was headed south bound when he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. The moped went into the outside shoulder of the road and he and his 14-year-old passenger were ejected, colliding face first with the asphalt. Neither driver nor passenger were reported to be wearing a helmet.
Montoya was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of serious injuries to the head.
His passenger was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
