Investigation into the death of an 8-year-old in Madisonville has turned up charges against a man for trafficking in fentanyl and other drug charges.
According to the Madisonville Police Department, while following investigative leads, detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence on North Church Street in Madisonville and conducted it on Wednesday. The search reportedly revealed drugs, a firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Thirty-three-year-old Antonio Person was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
The Madisonville Police Department has been assisted in the investigation—which remains ongoing—by the Hopkins County Health Department, Kentucky State Medical Examiners’ Office, Kentucky State Police and the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
