Two charged with second-degree burglary

Two people were arrested following investigation into a burglary in progress on Quail Club Road Saturday afternoon.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a residence for reports of individuals entering the building without permission from the homeowner. Upon arrival, contact was made with 33-year-old Stanley Marcus, who claimed the house belonged to his deceased grandfather and he had been told it would be his after his passing.

The homeowner told deputies the residence was actually his wife’s and was left to her, and Marcus did not have permission to be there. Marcus allegedly admitted to entering the residence by removing a window.

A search of residence reportedly resulted in the discovery of 37-year-old Candace Mahone in the kitchen—she claimed she was told the house belonged to Marcus.

Both Marcus and Mahone were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
