Rehabilitation project on I-69 in Hopkins County set to begin Monday

Motorists on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County should be alert for lane closures starting Monday, as Scotty’s Contracting and Stone is set to begin a $3.98 million rehabilitation project.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the project will address base repairs in various locations along I-69, spanning from milepost 105 to approximately milepost 107.

These operations will necessitate multiple lane closures throughout the project area, beginning Monday. Base repair work should be completed by Friday, April 1.  Start dates for milling and paving operations are yet to be finalized, but the expected project completion date is November 1.

Double fines will be imposed throughout the designated work zone to ensure worker and commuter safety, so motorists are advised to expect reduced speeds, with a maximum limit of 55 mph, and are urged to exercise caution while traveling through the work zone.
