Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Marcus Williams of Hopkinsville after he was found to reportedly be in possession of a stolen vehicle on Tuesday.
According to a report from police, the County ECC notified the department of a stolen vehicle that was seen on a flock camera at the intersection of Cox Mill Road and Eagle Way Bypass. Officers then searched neighborhoods in the nearby area to locate the vehicle.
The vehicle was located at a residence on Fenton Court and officers made contact with the homeowner who reportedly claimed that Williams asked if they could park the vehicle at their residence.
The owner then contacted Williams who came to the residence to turn himself over to law enforcement. Williams reportedly told officers he did not know the vehicle was stolen and received it after he was gambling with a person who said he could keep the vehicle until they had the money to pay him back.
Williams was charged with receiving stolen property costing $10,000 or more.
