One injured, one arrested in North Kentucky Avenue stabbing

A man was rushed the hospital and a Hopkinsville man has been arrested following a stabbing on North Kentucky Avenue Monday night. 

According to the Hopkinsville Police Department report, officers responded to reports of a stabbing victim around 10:30 p.m. It was determined the male victim was stabbed approximately 6-to-8 times and had a serious physical injury.  He was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then taken to an out-of-state hospital for treatment. 

Contact was made with 21-year-old Zycharius Harris of Hopkinsville, who allegedly told officers he and the victim had been in an altercation over Facebook posts.  Harris also reportedly stated that he threw the knife away due to it being used to stab someone.

Harris was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
