Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested 39-year-old Christina Brison and 36-year-old Chaquita Johnson both of Hopkinsville for drug trafficking and giving false information to law enforcement early Wednesday morning.
According to a report from police, Brison and Johnson were operating a vehicle on Mechanic Street when officers conducted a traffic stop on them because the vehicle’s rear license plate was not illuminated.
When asked for their identity, the pair reportedly gave officer’s false names and birth dates. Officers were then told by ECC that their names were not in their system. Officers were then made aware of their real identities and found that both had active E-warrants.
Brison and Johnson were removed from the vehicle and taken into custody leaving a purse a behind in the vehicle. Both of the women denied that the purse was theirs. When officers searched the purse, they allegedly found a large amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Both Brison and Johnson were charged with giving officers false identifying information, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brison was additionally charged with not having her rear license plate illuminated and Johnson was additionally charged with the failure to wear a seat belt.
