A Hopkinsville man is facing charges of assault and theft following investigation into a disturbance on Pembroke Road Wednesday evening.
According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Pembroke Road for reports of a disturbance around 7 p.m. Investigation determined that 18-year-old Jaden Johnson of Hopkinsville had allegedly stolen his great-grand mother’s phone and when confronted, threw the phone at the victim, damaging the side of the house.
He then allegedly picked up a rock and threw it, striking the victim in the temple, causing him to bleed. Johnson also reportedly admitted to stealing two guns from his grandfather’s residence.
He was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and theft by unlawful taking of a firearm.
