Local Rotary Club spotlights programs to benefit from auction

Kelly Gates and Cody Noffsinger from the Hopkinsville Rotary Club appeared on WHOP on Tuesday to highlight the upcoming 74th Annual Hopkinsville Rotary Auction and how the funds they raise will benefit local youth.

In November, the Rotary Club announced Gates as this year’s auction chair and shared that the auction theme is “Purposeful Pathways.” Last year the Rotary Club raised over $523,000.

Noffsinger shared that donations will go toward supporting local youth and their post high school educational endeavors. Funds will go toward the Rotary Scholars program which allows local graduates to go to Hopkinsville Community College for two years free and the Rotary Foundation which supports local youth organizations.

Auction funds will also benefit the Rotary Teaching Impact Scholarship which supports students who are pursuing a teaching degree and plan to be an educator in Christian County.

Gates spotlighted the Hour Club which is also set to be benefited by the auction. The Hour Club supports students at Hopkinsville Community College by sponsoring credit hours for students.

Beyond the auction, Gates is inviting the community to participate in the Rotary Golf Scramble on April 19 and says that they will post registration information to their social media soon and those interested in participating can contact Rotarian Jake Williams 731-234-9216.
