A Kuttawa woman is facing several charges following investigation into a missing child in Lyon County last week.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and multiple other first responder agencies went to the area of KY 93 North, where it was reported a 1-year-old child had gone missing. The child was located over 200 yards away from his residence, near a wooded area and a creek.
Investigation reportedly showed that this was the second time in a 72-hour period where the child wasn’t being properly supervised, which police say could have led to injuries or worse if not for intervention by others.
Twenty-eight-year-old Shelby King of Kuttawa, the child’s mother, was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The involved children were not harmed, but were temporarily removed from the home and placed with relatives.
