A lot of students in Christian County will be transitioning into the middle schools next school year, and CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel says they’re focused on making that step as smooth as possible.
Sixth grade is moving back into the middle schools next school year—it had been a part of the elementary schools, which means that students who were sixth graders will be going to the middle schools, but so will fifth graders. Superintendent Bentzel says that’s a big change for those students, and they’ll be working to answer questions from both students and their parents.
He says they’ll have open houses, online registration events, meetings with extracurricular leaders and coaches and much more, in an effort to make the transition a good one.
Bentzel also reminded parents of students who are set to begin kindergarten that they’ll have their registration event on March 1 at Christian County Middle School for the district as a whole.
He says he knows there remain a lot of questions about the realigned school attendance zones—more information can be found on the Christian County Public Schools website, where a map highlighting the districts can be found.
