Christian Fiscal Court tabled passage of the Christian County Road Program at Tuesday’s meeting, while approving agreements and clarifying incentives for the Casey Jones Distillery Expansion.
The delay in approving the Road Program is a temporary one, as magistrates look for more information concerning what roads are in their districts—something called into question by recent redistricting and reapportionment. Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says they’ll take the time to make sure everyone is fully informed on their district and where it falls in the Road Program.
Magistrates also approved a re-write of the incentive resolution for the Casey Jones Distillery Expansion—Gilliam says the incentive is already in place, but this clarifies that the private residence is not included in the resolution, clearing separating the residence from the business.
Magistrates also approved to approve the lease agreement with Court Appointed Special Advocate—or CASA—which are located in the former Judge-Executive’s offices on Weber Street. CASA Director Kyra Bailey expressed her gratitude and says CASA is responsible for over 300 cases concerning children in Christian County, so they’re always looking for more volunteers.
In other action, magistrates approved renewing the lease agreement with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, and an incentive resolution for MDM Properties to do work to properties on Main Street.
