Second annual SEED Summit set to provide entrepreneurial advice

Planters Bank is hosting their second annual Startup Economic and Entrepreneur Development (SEED) Summit on Monday to provide insight to the business world and networking opportunities for those looking to start or expand their own business.

The summit is an event featuring multiple speakers and sessions offering advice on how to establish a small business as well as business owners sharing their own experiences.

Planters Bank Assistant Vice President of Marketing, Ashley Jackson says small businesses are important to their market areas in west Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee. Jackson says the summit is a way to support those in their service region.

In comparison to their first summit, Jackson says they are different sessions for those working to establishing their own business and those who are working toward business expansion.

Jackson says the summit starts at 8 a.m. with registration and in the lobby their will be vendors that attendees can network with and learn from. Once the summit starts, Jackson says they will have panels on finance and marketing and two small business panels for emerging and expanding businesses.

Along with the panels, Jackson says one lucky business owner in attendance will receive a $10,000 business startup or growth grant. Last year R3 Cabinets in Clarksville received the grant.

More information and tickets, which are $25, can be found at expectgreatthingsbank.com/seed or eventbrite.com and tickets can also be bought at the door. The SEED Summit is being hosted at the James E. Bruce Convention Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
