A Hopkinsville man is facing charges following a pursuit that began on West Seventh Street Wednesday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers were in the area of West Seventh and Westwood Drive searching for a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Antonio Haskins of Hopkinsville, who had warrants out for his arrest. Officers located the vehicle and when they started to turn around, Haskins allegedly sped up and cutdown Westwood, pulling into a yard.
When officers approached, Haskins allegedly fled on foot, ignoring multiple commands to stop. The foot pursuit continued between several houses and over fences, crossing into backyards on Boxwood Drive before Haskins was taken into custody.
Haskins is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, driving on a DUI suspended license and possession of marijuana.
