Governor Andy Beshear has awarded nearly $6 million in grant funding to expand treatment and recovery services for pregnant and parenting women battling addiction, including to the Pennyroyal Center.
According to a news release, the funding has been distributed to 17 non-profit organizations, such as Community Mental Health Centers and Neonatal Abstinence Treatment Programs, through the Senate Bill 192 Treatment Grant administered by the Office of Drug Control Policy and Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities.
The Pennyroyal Center, which serves western Kentucky, received $300,000 to go towards expanding housing for women, certification, 18-bed capacity, renovations and to expand telehealth services.
