Alpha Pregnancy Care Center is ready to celebrate, as thanks to community support and fundraising efforts, they’ll be hosting a blessing and dedication on Monday for the new Safe Haven Baby Box in Hopkinsville.
The box, which is designed to safely house a baby in the event the mother feels she must give them up, is located at Hopkinsville Fire Department Station One and will allow those parents a way to safely surrender a baby, as opposed to more hazardous locations. Alpha Executive Director Angie Crawford says it provides an anonymous means where a baby will be immediately aided by firefighters and EMS.
She says it’s just one of many ways Alpha is helping support women and children in the community, even during times of possible crisis.
The blessing ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday—then later in the week on Friday and Saturday, Alpha is hosting their Father Daughter Ball at the James E. Bruce Convention Center and tickets are still available.
