Two people were displaced after a home on Hope Street was damaged by fire Monday night.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to calls of a structure fire in the 700 block of Hope Street around 8 p.m. and found flames coming from the back of the home. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, containing the damage to the rear of the structure.
Two residents were home at the time of the blaze but were able to safely evacuate. No one was injured and the Red Cross was called to assist the residents.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
