Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department arrested Timothy Winston of Hopkinsville after reportedly conducting a traffic stop and finding him to be in possession of fentanyl pills on Saturday.
According to a report from police, Winston was seen driving on East 2nd Street and allegedly had excessive window tint covering his windshield. The responding officer then performed a traffic stop on Winston and informed him that his window tint was too dark.
The responding officer reportedly found that Winston was operating his vehicle on a suspended license and as he was retrieving his vehicle insurance the officer noted that Winston was showing signs of being nervous.
As a result of Winston’s reported actions, the officer requested for a K9 Deputy to come to the stop. At the scene the K9 allegedly alerted to something being inside of the vehicle.
In the passenger side glove compartment of the vehicle officers reportedly found a bag of fentanyl pills. Winston was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for opiates, operating a vehicle on a suspended license and excessive windshield tinting.
