McConnell calls for strong action following attack in Jordan that killed 3 servicemembers

United States leaders are still reeling from an attack in Jordan that killed three American servicemembers and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the current administration has not done enough.

Speaking on the Senate floor recently, the Kentucky lawmaker mourned the loss of those three servicemembers, saying his deepest sympathies are with their families and their comrades who were wounded in the attack.  McConnell called the attack Iran-backed, saying it proves that the threat in the Middle East continues to persist.

He says that words are not enough—the U.S. must use action to be sure its enemies know that attacks and threats will not be taken lightly.

The senator says he understands the desire to avoid war, but he says they have known for years that Iran is behind a deadly wave of terror aimed at expelling America from the Middle East and wiping Israel from the map.

He urged President Biden to act with authority and strength, saying enemies will remain embolden without serious, crippling costs.
