Amber Alert issued for missing Princeton juvenile

An amber alert was issued on Monday morning for 5-year-old Lela Black of Princeton who has been declared missing following the suspected murder of her mother.

According to a report from state police, they were dispatched to a residence Lela was known to reside in to investigate the death of her mother, Kelly Black who was fatally shot. Police believe that Lela is with her biological father, 42-year-old Byron Black who has an arrest warrant for his suspected involvement in Kelly’s death.

 Lela and Byron have not been seen or heard from since Friday and the father is suspected to be armed and dangerous. Lela is reported to be Caucasian with brown hair, brown eyes and standing approximately 3-feet and 6-inches tall.

Byron is reported to be Caucasian with brown hair, brown eyes and standing approximately 6-feet tall. He is also said to be driving a white 1996 Chevrolet Silverado with a license plate displaying 5J83779. The vehicle is also reported to have paint peeling off of the hood.

UPDATE: According to Kentucky State Police Lela was safely located and Byron is now in custody.
