Rusellville man arrested following hours long standoff in Logan County

A Russellville man is in custody following a vehicle pursuit that began in Bowling Green and ended in Logan County with a standoff.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were in the area patrolling on Russellville Road helping the Bowling Green Police Department locate a stolen vehicle reported in the area. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, a black pick-up truck, and the vehicle reportedly fled, continuing onto I-165 south.

The pursuit continued through Warren County and into Logan County, were the operator was reportedly seen brandishing a firearm inside the vehicle. The pursuit eventually came to a stop on Coppertown Road, where a standoff ensued for several hours before the suspect, 40-year-old Adam Lee Parnell of Russellville, was taken into custody.

Parnell is facing numerous charges in both counties and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
