Clarksville police have identified the woman killed in an apartment fire on Darlene Drive Wednesday night.
According to a news release, the victim was 50-year-old Gina Michelle Wes, who was found deceased inside of an apartment by firefighters as the responded to reports of smoke in the building.
As previously reported, a neighbor smelled smoke and heard the smoke alarm going off and called 9-1-1. The neighbor knocked on the door trying to get the neighbor to come to the door. They went inside the apartment and saw the smoke and smoldering fire. Firefighters arrived on the scene, performed a quick search at 9:47 p.m., and quickly brought the fire under control.
