A home was damaged by fire on Seminole Avenue Monday afternoon.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, three stations responded to the 3000 block of Seminole around 1:30 p.m. and upon arrival, found smoke coming from the front of the house. The fire was quickly extinguished, and in a search of the home they located a cat in a back bedroom.
The cat was given oxygen and then transported to a veterinarian and is expected to make a recovery. The resident of the home was able to escape without injury.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
