One person was badly injured and had to be extricated from their vehicle following a crash on Canton Street Monday morning.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 9 a.m. when the vehicle collided with a light pole, according to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Lt. Payton Rogers, who says the patient had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Crews worked for nearly 20 minutes to free the victim, who had severe injuries and was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
Air medical was unable to transport the victim to a Nashville hospital due to the weather. The patient was taken via ambulance to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
