Although a bill has been filed that would look to eliminate no-excuse early voting in Kentucky, local legislators aren’t supportive of that action.
Speaking with WHOP News recently, Representative Myron Dossett says he’s very much not for doing away with early voting, saying he thinks Kentucky has found the sweet spot for voting opportunities, and it’s popular amongst the voters.
Senator Whitney Westerfield agreed, saying recent elections have proven that early voting is utilized and favored.
Representative Walker Thomas says county clerks, along with the Secretary of State, have been outspoken about how vital and convenient early voting is, so he doesn’t believe the measure has much support.
