The Madisonville Police Department has arrested a local man on a charge of first-degree rape following an investigation into a sexual assault.
According to a news release, the Madisonville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division conducted the investigation into the reported sexual assault of a 14-year-old female victim on December 23 at a residence on Springlake Street.
As a result of that investigation, officers arrested 39-year-old Ryan Bryant of Madisonville and charged him with first-degree rape. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
