HPD charge local man with theft of vehicle

A Hopkinsville man is facing a felony theft charge in relation to a stolen vehicle that was located on Sunday. 

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to the area of McLean Avenue and McLean Street after a Flock camera detected a stolen vehicle.  Following some investigation, officers made contact with 58-year-old Robert Hood of Hopkinsville at a location on East Ninth Street, who allegedly admitted to stealing the vehicle. 

During a search of both the vehicle and the location, officers reportedly located a small amount of cocaine. 

Hood was arrested and charged with felony theft of automobile and possession of a controlled substance.
