Oak Grove man charged with stalking, indecent exposure

An Oak Grove man is facing charges of stalking and indecent exposure following investigation into an incident on the Hopkinsville Greenway System. 

According to the Hopkinsville police report, a female victim was walking on the rail trail on Wednesday when she noticed that a pick-up truck following her as she made her way down the trail, seeing it at multiple intersections. While approaching the bridge the crosses Cox Mill Road, she spotted a suspect, identified as 45-year-old Bernardo LaCosta of Oak Grove, standing on the bridge and exposing and touching himself while staring at her. 

The victim was able to distance herself from LaCosta and contact law enforcement. 

Detectives were reportedly able to confirm the events by reviewing camera footage. During an interview, LaCosta allegedly admitted he was the person driving the truck and on the bridge.

LaCosta, a Kentucky Corrections Officer at the Ross-Cash Center in western Kentucky, was arrested and charged with second-degree stalking and second-degree indecent exposure.
