Hopkinsville police have charged a local man with assault and strangulation following investigation into a victim at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
According to the police report, officers responded to Jennie Stuart on Tuesday in reference to an assault and upon arrival, made contact with the victim, who told officers that 50-year-old David Johnson of Hopkinsville had assaulted her at a residence on Hill Street.
The victim had visible injuries to the right side of her body, including her hand, arm and neck—Johnson allegedly twisted the victim’s arm behind her back and grabbed her around the neck, choking her.
Johnson is charged with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
