Two charged in South Campbell Street burglary

Two Hopkinsville residents are facing second-degree burglary charges following investigation by the Hopkinsville Police Department.

According to the police report, officers responded to an apartment on South Campbell Street Saturday for reports of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 61-year-old Stephen Baker of Hopkinsville, who told them he had permission to be there. He allegedly began to resist officers, and was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Thirty-eight-year-old Amber Ramey of Hopkinsville was reportedly located hiding inside of a room in the apartment.

The landlord told officers that neither one had permission to be in the vacant apartment.

Both were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
