Mory Burse, a Hopkinsville man who is a suspect in the 2021 fatal shooting of Devon Kendrick on Sharpe Street, appeared in Christian Circuit Court on Wednesday where his January trial date was vacated.
Since the January trial date was a set, an alternative suspect was found and prosecuting attorney, Chad Nelson the assistant commonwealth’s attorney for Trigg County says a third gun found underwent ballistics testing and was determined to not have been used in the shooting.
On Wednesday, Nelson says a fourth gun was found in a quarry near Vine Street and is set for ballistics testing. The gun is a 9 mm matching the description of the gun used in the shooting.
Burse’s defense attorney, Ramon McGee was not able to appear at the pretrial conference so defense attorney Eric Bearden appeared on his behalf. Both Bearden and Nelson agreed to set another pretrial conference on February 19 to discuss the results that comes from the ballistics test.
