Sims enters guilty plea in relation to 2021 armed home invasion

Another individual has pled guilty to his role in the 2021 armed invasion of the home of Charles “Birddog” Paige in Christian County Circuit Court Friday morning.

Michael Sims entered a guilty plea to complicity to second-degree robbery—amended down from first-degree robbery—and several other charges, which come with a recommended sentence of seven years in total. Judge John Atkins accepted his plea of guilt.

Defense attorney Sands Chewning requested that his client be released pending final sentencing.

Judge Atkins agreed to the release and set final sentencing for January 31.

Sims joins his other co-defendants in accepting plea agreements—Isaiah Campbell, Korey Zivotin, Ajaizion Johnson, Marshall Austin and Brayden Katz have all entered guilty pleas in relation to the armed home invasion that happened on Glass Avenue.

All parties involved exchanged gunfire during the incident, and restitution has been paid to the victim’s, with Sims set to replace the drywall in the Paige home.
