Christian Fiscal Court hears animal shelter report, approves several items

Christian Fiscal Court heard the monthly report from the Christian County Animal Shelter and approved several items at their final meeting of 2023 Tuesday morning.

One of those items was an agreement of affiliation with the Christian County Rescue Team, along with the standard Search and Rescue plan—which Randy Graham says was approved by the state and had no changes in comparison to prior years.

Also approved as the annual Trilogy Center Community Development Block Grant request, which Amy Frogue with Pennyrile Area Development District clarified to magistrates, along with other grants through the county.

Animal Shelter Director Melissa Goff gave the monthly report, saying that in November the regional facility took in 386 animals and 223 animals found new homes.

In other action, magistrates approved a bid in approximately the amount of $66,300 to construct work stations at the Christian County Justice Center. Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam explained that costs incurred by the county for the Justice Center are reimbursed by the Administrative Office of the Courts.
