A Hopkinsville man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly attacked the victim with a metal mailbox on Saturday.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, 41-year-old Leon Davie of Hopkinsville is accused of going to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and breaking the front window using a brick. When the victim came outside, a physical altercation began.
At some point during the altercation, Davie allegedly pulled a metal mailbox out of the ground and began hitting the victim with it, causing injuries to the victim and damages to the mailbox.
Davie was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief.
