Grand Jury returns indictments for drug trafficking, attempted murder

A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for charges of drug trafficking, assault and attempted murder.

Vince Jenkins of Hopkinsville was arrested on October 4 following a traffic stop that revealed he was allegedly in possession of multiple controlled substances and drugs such as carfentanil, fentanyl, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Jenkins was indicted on three charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, failure to maintain vehicle insurance and license, failure to signal while driving, driving with an obstructed windshield or vision.

Phillips Sanders of Hopkinsville was arrested on October 24 in connection to a shooting incident on October 2. When Sanders was arrested, he allegedly had, 70 buprenorphine strips, marijuana, a handgun and drug paraphernalia in his residence. 

Sanders was charged with five counts of attempted murder, trafficking in marijuana, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree wanton endangerment, 14 counts of first-degree criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render aid or assistance.

Michael Henderson of Hopkinsville was arrested on October 28 after he allegedly assaulted and kidnapped a woman. Henderson was charged with kidnapping, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, first degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Larry Gibbs Jr. of Hopkinsville was arrested after he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Gibbs was indicted on four counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance with the intent to sell or transfer it.
