With Hopkinsville City Council positions up for election in 2024 two Democratic newcomers have filed their paperwork for positions on the council.
Markeeta Oldham Wilkerson filed as a Democrat for the Ward One position currently held by Natasha Francis on December 8. Wilkerson is the first person to file for the council’s Ward One seat.
Ardell Owens filed as a Democrat for the Ward Nine position currently held by Jamie Lienberger on Tuesday. Owens is the sixth person to file for the council’s Ward Nine seat and is the third Democrat to do so.
