The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be closing a section of U.S. 41-A in Hopkins County starting on December 18 to allow for installing of a railroad crossing.
According to a news release, the closure is part of an ongoing construction project to improve connectivity and transportation efficiency in communities across the state. The closure will begin around noon on December 18 and run continuously until December 20, when they plan to reopen the road to the public.
The closure will be near mile point three on U.S. 41-A.
A marked detour will reroute motorists down KY 1034 onto KY 262, with detour signs posted. Motorists should plan for additional travel time during the closure.
