The National Weather Service in Paducah was in Todd County Sunday to survey storm damage from Saturday’s tornado, and have determined it to have been a strong EF-2 tornado.
According to the preliminary report, the path of the twister was part of a continuous, longer tracked tornado that entered the area five miles west of Guthrie coming from the Clarksville area, before tracking 13.2 miles in Todd County before entering Logan County from the south side of Allensville.
Hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted, numerous power poles were broken, with at least a dozen out buildings destroyed, including barns, sheds and garages. Multiple homes sustained damage to roofs, sidings and gutters—with some roofs partially removed.
The tornado is believed to have had an estimated wind peak of up to 125 miles per hour and to have been roughly 440 yards wide.
