Grand jury returns indictments for assault, complicity

A Christian County Grand Jury has returned multiple indictments, including for assault, complicity and more.

Indicted for second-degree assault domestic violence and public intoxication is 53-year-old Jesse Dossett Jr of Hopkinsville, who is accused of assaulting his son in September. As previously reported, officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Main Street Friday afternoon for reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made Dossett who was allegedly laying on the front porch manifestly under the influence

While speaking with Dossett and another person on scene, Dossett’s disabled son came out of the residence with blood on his face. The son had a large laceration to his head—there was reportedly broken glass all in the living room.

Indicted for complicity to first-degree robbery, complicity to kidnapping, complicity to second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment is 21-year-old Chynna Berleck of Hopkinsville. She is accused of luring a victim to her residence, where that victim was reportedly assaulted, held at gunpoint and forced to drive to a different location before being robbed. The victim sought medical treatment for injuries at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
