Murray man charged with drug trafficking following single-vehicle wreck

Investigation into a single-vehicle wreck in Murray resulted in an arrest for drug trafficking and operating a vehicle under the influence on Saturday.

The Murray Police Department responded to a single-vehicle on the south side of Murray and found 31-year-old Ronald Allen of Murray the vehicle’s operator to be under the influence of alcohol and other substances. Further investigation reportedly revealed that Allen was in possession of illegal narcotics and a firearm.

Police charged Allen with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and substances, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for Methamphetamine and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Both drug trafficking charges are enhanced because of Allen’s firearm possession.

Allen is currently lodged at the Calloway County Jail.
