Jeffers Bend Environmental Center is inviting the community to Christmas at the Bend on Saturday to take pictures with Santa Claus, craft holiday ornaments and much more.
Charles Turner and Diane Croney Turner from Jeffers Bend appeared on WHOP to talk about what the community can expect from this year’s Christmas at the Bend. Croney Turner says along with pictures with Santa Claus and ornament crafts, attendees can make Christmas cards for nursing home residents, listen to storytelling, feed birds and enter a drawing for a gas grill.
Croney Turner says they are looking for all the help they can get for making Christmas cards. Turner says in his talks with workers at the nursing home they have said that for many of the residents the cards made for them at Christmas at the Bend may be the only gift they get during the holidays.
Beyond the Holiday activities, Turner says the Hopkinsville Fire Department and the Hopkinsville Police Department will be in attendance to share safety precautions during the holiday season.
Along with the festivities there will be refreshments such as hot chocolate, cookies and hot cider. Christmas at the Bend is on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center at 1170 Metcalfe Lane. Admission is $5 per vehicle and a photo with Santa Claus costs $5.
