Christian County’s NeVaeh Day wins Player of the Week

This week’s Jennie Stuart Orthopedic – Michael Venable State Farm Player of the Week is NeVaeh Day.

NeVaeh is a junior at Christian Co. High School and is a member of the Lady Colonel basketball team.

On Tuesday, November 28th at Muhlenberg Co., in her first game of the season she put up an incredible stat-line consisting of 21 points, 18 rebounds, and 3 steals, to lead her team to a 70-42 win.

For NeVaeh, she started playing basketball in the second grade and one of Christian County’s assistant coaches helped her in that journey.

Day said that it was Coach Cha Leavell that encouraged her to play the sport due to her tall height for a second grader.

Day now stands at 5″11″ and with her combined athletic ability, she is capable of having 18 rebound performances every time she steps on the court.

On top of her scoring ability, NeVaeh is widely acknowledged for her defensive ability and is considered the anchor of the Lady Colonels.

Head coach of the Lady Colonels Kiki Radford talked about Day’s opening day performance, and the experience she’s had coaching her.
