Woman charged with assault of Clarksville police officer

A woman who had been sought by Clarksville police for allegedly spraying an officer with bear mace in October has been taken into custody.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, 25-year-old Daniell Pitt of Nashville is facing charges of aggravated assault on a first responders, felony theft and felony evading in Clarksville, and additional charges from several different jurisdictions. She was arrested by the Lebanon Police Department Sunday after allegedly attempting to steal items from a Hibbett Sports store. 

As previously reported, a group of women were alleged to be shoplifting from the TJ Maxx on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on October 9 and when approached by an officer, Pitt reportedly sprayed him with bear spray.  Then all suspects fled the area in a black Dodge charger.
