After nearly a year since shovels broke ground for the Trigg County Spec Building, the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council hosted a ribbon cutting for the building at the Cadiz Interstate 24 Business Industrial Park on Wednesday.
Before the ribbon was cut members of the community and those that helped make the building a reality spoke about the significance of the building and the purpose it will serve.
The building serves to be a home to an industry looking toward expanding in Kentucky. Council Executive Director shared that the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED) played a role in making the spec building a reality.
Hendricks shared that a grants from both the TVA and KAED helped fund the buildings construction. KAED Board Chairman, Amanda Davenport says the building will strengthen the economic regions and that it stands as an example as innovation, opportunity and growth for the community.
Along with Davenport, Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries thanked everyone who helped make the building happen and says he looks forward to having the building sold soon and hopes the jobs are prosperous for the community and the region as a whole.
Hendricks closed out remarks saying the occasion is not just about a ribbon cutting but also an opportunity for a company to invest in the region and plant roots in Kentucky.
The building stands at 100,600 square feet and can be expanded across the sites 15 acres has two loading docks which can be expanded to 10 and a drive-in.
