(Boys’ BB) Hoptown proves to be the bigger cats against Trigg Co. at home in their season opener

On Tuesday night, inside Tiger Gym, Hopkinsville High hosted and defeated the Trigg Co. Wildcats 91-43.

As expected, Antonio Williams started his season on a high note scoring 26 points with 24 of those coming in the first half. Due to the blowout-win, Williams only played about half of the 3rd quarter and missed the entirety of the 4th.

Multiple Tigers joined Williams in double figure scoring.

DeReion Dudley was the second leading scorer with 11 points and Jarae Leavell, Jonathan Hart, and Keonte Radford all scored 10.

For Trigg Co., they were missing a big piece on the floor in senior Jhaden Vaughn who was the leading returning scorer averaging 17.3 points per game last season. Kahmani Bush ended up with 8 points leading the Wildcats in scoring.

Next up for Trigg Co. is a road trip traveling to Illinois on Friday to take on Meridian.

For Hopkinsville they will play in Muhlenberg Co. on Saturday in the Farmers Bank and Trust Tip-off Classic where their opponent will be Ohio Co.

Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and the F&M Bank Pregame Show will be at 3:45 p.m. on NewsRadio 99.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
